PROJECT MIXER RECORD
RECORD TRACKS
RECORDING FLOW
Recording is controlled from the Device menu and recording toolbar. Choose the input device, choose mono or stereo route, set a clean input level, record from the desired playhead position, align timing, then save, render, or upload audio as needed.
1. SELECT RECORD DEVICE
Use this before recording. The record device decides which microphone, audio interface, or USB input Jamgather captures.
STEP 1 - Click DEVICE
Look at the bottom Project Mixer menu. Click DEVICE.
STEP 2 - Click RECORD DEVICE
Inside the DEVICE menu, click RECORD DEVICE to open the input device list.
STEP 3 - Select the real input
Choose your audio interface, USB microphone, or computer input. Allow browser microphone permission if prompted. If the meter does not move, choose another device or check system permission.
2. MONO / STEREO INPUT ROUTE
After selecting a device, choose which hardware input channel becomes the recorded track.
STEP 1 - Choose MONO for one input
Choose MONO 1 for input 1 or MONO 2 for input 2. This is common for vocal mic, guitar, bass, or one instrument cable.
STEP 2 - Choose STEREO for two inputs
Choose STEREO 1+2 for stereo keyboard, stereo mixer output, or two microphones that should stay as one left/right track.
STEP 3 - Check record level
Use the REC VOL / input meter. Try to keep the audio interface input around 75-85 percent and avoid clipping.
3. START RECORD AND STOP
Recording starts from the current playhead position. The score often reserves a short count-in, but you should still set the start point carefully.
STEP 1 - Set the playhead
Click the timeline or play to the point where the take should begin.
STEP 2 - Click START RECORD
Click START RECORD. Perform while listening to project playback, click track, sheet, or member tracks.
STEP 3 - Stop the take
Click stop playback or the record control. The new recording appears as a mixer track.
STEP 4 - Re-record if needed
Click Start Record again when you want to re-record and replace the previous temporary take.
4. AFTER RECORDING
A recorded track can start at the song beginning or in the middle. New recordings are temporary until saved.
STEP 1 - Check middle-song recording
If you started recording in the middle, the new waveform also starts in the middle. This is useful for fixing one verse, solo, chorus, or short section.
STEP 2 - Look for the unsaved marker
A dot/marker beside track information means the track is not saved yet. Listen before saving.
STEP 3 - Save the final take
Select the recorded track, then use SAVE > TRACK when the take is ready.
5. DELAY FIX / AUTO DELAY
Latency can make recordings early or late. Manual Delay Fix shifts by milliseconds. Auto Delay compares audio shape and timing peaks with a reference and moves to the closest estimated match, but it is not always perfect.
STEP 1 - Use Manual Delay Fix
Select the recorded track. Use minus when the recording is late and needs to move earlier. Use plus when it is early and needs to move later.
STEP 2 - Try Auto Delay
Keep a clear reference track unmuted, select the new recording, and click Auto Delay.
STEP 3 - Zoom and correct by ear
After Auto Delay, Zoom In, inspect the waveform, and play the section. If the result is close but not exact, use Move Track to correct it.
6. RENDER TRACK AFTER DELAY FIX / UPLOAD WAV
Render Track and Upload WAV both create normal mixer tracks. Render Track is mainly used after Delay Fix: it bakes the timing offset into the audio and creates a normal track that no longer needs a Delay Fix number.
STEP 1 - Render after Delay Fix is correct
Select the track that was corrected with DELAY FIX, confirm the timing by playback, then click RENDER TRACK. Jamgather creates a new audio track at the corrected timing position.
STEP 2 - Upload WAV or other audio
Click UPLOAD WAV, choose an audio file from your computer, and let Jamgather place it into the mixer.
STEP 3 - Save if you want to keep it
After render or upload, listen once and use Save Track if the new audio should stay in My Studio. For rendered Delay Fix audio, save the new normal track after confirming it no longer needs the Delay Fix value.
